When Terri Garr died, I watched a video of her dancing in Elvis’s film _Viva Las Vegas_ and was surprised to see the name Toni Basil as one of the other dancers in the scene. This led to a rabbit hole search on Basil, which—as your own deep dive shows—goes in a bazillion directions. I had no idea. Toni really did do everything and was everywhere, even if a lot of that was behind the scenes. Pretty amazing career.

James Ingram was all over the radio in the ‘80s and ‘90s doing duets with everyone. Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, Kim Carnes, John Tesh, Kenny Rogers, Patti Austin, Michael MacDonald, Quincy Jones, Anita Baker, and on and on. It’s like he was on somebody’s speed dial for a second voice. As a result, his greatest hits catalog may be less about him than those other performers. Kind of unusual.
