An amazing story. You wouldn't think of "Sesame Street" as a training ground for NYC disco/funk bands, but such apparently was the case in the '70s.

Besides playing with Bowie, Alomar also wrote with him. "Fame" was jointly credited to Bowie, Alomar and John Lennon and built around an Alomar guitar riff.

A lot of musicians played on the soundtracks of those shows- the harmonica on the show's theme recording was by none other than Toots Thielemans. And the outro music they used in the '70s and '80s was a real jam.
