Such coincidence. On Saturday evening, I was working on a playlist, and a picture of Derek & The Dominoes came up on Spotify, I pointed out Clapton and Allman, but when my wife asked about the curly-haired guy, I said, "Jim Gordon, but you don't want to know about him because it's too sad of a story. "

And now here we are, three days later, with the story.

Hal Blaine is the epitome of a professional musician. He would come in, do something inventive, it would truly add exactly what the song needed, and it would stick with people. As a drummer, I’m always blown away by Blaine’s ability to do this. The lack of that kind of pizazz in music today is so glaring. We need more guys like Blaine.
