"Steal My Sunshine" is like Canadian Punxatawny Phil: when it first plays on the radio, that means 2 months of summer.
I will always love this goofy song, and have convinced a bunch of people who've always hated it to embrace it (which cracks me up immensely). It's not great and that doesn't matter.
Also, the Andrea True record "More, More, More" is on, is way better than people might judge it to be offhand. A real jam.
Ah, the Andrea True Connection. Had not heard that name in decades.
As for Len, is it possible to have a more forgettable band name? Sounds like the name of the granola-eating guy who runs the local organic veggie collective. And how apropos that the scooters in the video have the Vice logo on them, after Vice finally collapsed last week. Says it all.
As for the song, no clue. Never heard it. Listening now. Needs to find one more gear, as it settles into the groove early on and doesn't step up after that.
Dan--I'm shocked you've never heard this one! I suppose it was a bit generational. This was omnipresent for the late Gen-X/Millennial set. As for the persistently second gear vibe, totally true. But I think that's what I love about it. Settling in, not stepping up--perfectly embodies a lazy summer day!

Re: Andrea True--100%. That tune super holds up. But full disclosure--I've got a deep soft spot for disco so I may lack objectivity here;-)
