The song has some structural similarities to some Indigenous dance and drum beat chants, so they clearly were trying to adapt that style for people unfamiliar with it.
Great piece, I'm familiar with Redbone (even had their hit album back in the day) but not their back story - I was unaware that the Lollys wrote "Niki Hoeky" and that's a great bit of trivia. I'll be keeping an eye out for the "Haunted House" LP, for the cover art if nothing else!
Cool playlist too - I'm guessing many people are familiar with the 2017 documentary "Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked The World," which covers many of the artists in the Spotify list - if not, it's well worth seeking out.

They were an interesting band. I saw them when they opened for Alice Cooper. That was a great bill.
